Inside the SAIC Volkswagen factory in Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, construction of a new lavida model technical improvement project is in full swing. With a total investment of about 5 billion yuan, the project is scheduled to be put into official operation in June 2025. Upon operation, its annual output of vehicles is expected to reach 200,000. This is the epitome of the resumption of construction of key projects in Changsha.
Changsha has focused on the implementation, construction, and operation of projects and made every effort to get off to a good start, according to the municipal development and reform commission on February 20. Among the 46 newly started key construction projects this year, 13 commenced ahead of schedule.

On February 14 , the fifth day of the first lunar month, Hunan Xiangjiang New Area held a Spring Festival talkfest among Hunan entrepreneurs. A total of 36 projects were inked, with a total investment of 45.8 billion yuan. Changsha County, Ningxiang City, Wangcheng District, and Kaifu District followed suit and held concentrated signing and commencement activities for major projects successively. As of February 20, five concentrated signing and commencement activities took place across Changsha. A total of 146 projects started construction, with an estimated total investment of 114.77 billion yuan. Eighty-five projects worth 103 billion yuan in total were signed.

Just after the Spring Festival holiday, construction of key projects in Changsha has entered a busy phase, accelerating the projects' full completion and operation. On February 19, all employees of the Xinglian Road Grand Channel Project returned to their work. They are working at full throttle to ensure the bridge's closure by September this year. Changsha has rolled out 638 key projects in 2024, and 207 of them started or resumed construction, including 161 on-going ones.
