A fireworks display themed "Meeting Liuyang River · A New Year's Night of Well-wishing" will be staged at the Liuyang Sky Theater at 20:00 on December 31, 2023, the eve of the 2024 New Year's Day. On the occasion of this traditional Chinese festival, the event will use fireworks as a medium to immerse visitors in a jubilant atmosphere of "making a wish to the sky," bidding farewell to 2023 and welcoming the upcoming 2024.

The four-hour event will be divided into four parts, including a large-scale immersive fireworks show over the Liuyang River, a China-chic fireworks display, a China-chic music party with interactive street performances, and a midnight wishing ceremony.

The large-scale immersive fireworks show will introduce for the first time the concept of "auspicious beasts praying for happiness", which is based on traditional Chinese cultural stories from The Classic of Mountains and Seas. The combination of romantic myths and pyrotechnic art will lead the audience into an ancient and auspicious fantasy world.  Around 10,000 people will send off good wishes together with the "five auspicious beasts" to ring in the New Year.

In addition to the fireworks show, special zones for a music party and live band performances will also be set up, allowing visitors to enjoy music, re-energize and escape the pressures of work. Moreover, programs such as COSER parades, a food street and interactive installations will also bring more fun to visitors as they watch the fireworks.
