Changsha Delegation Flies to Europe to Attract Investment

The Hunan European Investment and Trade Negotiation Week, sponsored by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, kicked off in Germany in September. As part of the negotiation week, a Hunan-Germany investment and trade cooperation fair took place in Dusseldorf, Germany on September 21, local time. An economic and trade delegation from Changsha attended. The delegation is comprised of representatives from the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, and Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee. Qiu Jixing, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Working Committee of the Hunan Pilot Free Trade Zone Changsha Area, briefed the German government, business associations and corporate guests on Changsha's conditions and investment attraction policies.

At the fair, the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, and the German Zurbrüggen Group jointly signed a memorandum of understanding on building the Sino-European International Cooperation Demonstration Zone and Sino-European Enterprise Joint Innovation Center. The demonstration zone aims to support the initiative of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and the Hunan Provincial People's Government to build Changsha into a global R&D center. It will serve as an international platform for R&D, innovation, and cooperation between Chinese and European enterprises, with a primary focus on the Sino-European Enterprise Joint Innovation Center.

The Changsha delegation embarked on a trip to Europe with the aim of strengthening the city's economic and trade cooperation with European countries, enhancing the stability and quality of the city's foreign investment work, and accelerating the construction of a global R&D center. From September 18 to 27, the delegation would carry out activities of promoting Changsha, attracting investment and conducting project matchmaking in Germany, Sweden and Denmark to seek new opportunities for cooperation and development. During the trip, the delegation would visit the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Duisburg City government, Continental AG, BASF Group, Hawe Hydraulic, and Cologne Bonn Airport in Germany; Uppsala City government, Uppsala Innovation Center, and a commercial complex in central Stockholm in Sweden; and Copenhagen City Hall and Carlsberg Group in Denmark, and among others. A total of 17 activities including economic and trade promotion, project matchmaking, and inspection tours would be scheduled.
