The First Spring Festival Lantern Fair of Changsha City is being held at the Malanshan Yazui Park, Kaifu District, Changsha.

The lantern fair introduced for the first time the national-level intangible cultural heritage Zigong lanterns, which are hailed as the "No. 1 Lanterns in the World". Over 20 sets of large lantern installations are on display, such as "A Soaring Dragon in Hunan", "Vigour of a Dragon or Horse", "Aiwan Pavilion", and "Yuelu Academy". They were carefully designed and crafted based on the local cultural characteristics of Changsha, a city blessed with mountains, rivers, and isles, and the concept of auspicious dragons was incorporated. 

From February 19 to 20, the "World Dragon King" Challenge of the Chinese Traditional Dragon and Lion Dance International Championships will take place at the venue of the lantern fair. Nearly 20 top teams will gather to compete for the titles of World Dragon King and Lion King. An intangible cultural heritage fair and other tourist areas will be also set up to offer residents and tourists a grand festive event.

The lantern fair was guided by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Publicity Department of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, and hosted by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television, the CPC Kaifu District Committee, the Kaifu District People's Government, and the Changsha Municipal State-owned Assets Industry Holding Group Co., Ltd.
