The 2024 World Computing Conference (WCC) will be held in Changsha on September 24 and 25, as announced at a press conference on August 29. Since the first session in 2019, Changsha has hosted five WCC sessions.

The theme will be "Calculating the World to Create a New Era – Work out the New Quality Productive Forces". There will be an opening ceremony and a keynote seminar, 10 themed activities, a competition, and a themed exhibition, showcasing the latest progress, outcomes, and development trends of the computing industry at home and abroad from multiple perspectives.

A Changsha Initiative on Green Intelligent Computing will be publicized at the conference, displaying cutting-edge technological breakthroughs in computing, and accelerating high-end, intelligent, and green development of the computing industry. Besides, a series of national-level thinktank achievements in advanced computing and computing power will be released, and authoritative industrial reports, technology roadmaps, and policy interpretations will be presented.

The 2024 WCC is hosted by the People's Government of Hunan Province, and undertaken by the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Changsha Municipal People's Government, and the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID).
