Changsha held an assessment meeting for its key work in the first half of the year on July 27. A centralized commencement activity for major projects in the third quarter took place simultaneously. A total of 371 major projects started or completed construction, with an estimated total investment of 149.118 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 40.05 billion yuan. Compared to the same period in 2023, the number of projects increased by 39 and the estimated total investment expanded by 29.818 billion yuan, representing a growth of 11.7% and 24.9% respectively. The projects are involved in such fields as advanced manufacturing, scientific and technological innovation, and modern infrastructure.

Among the projects, 207 are industrial development projects, 66 infrastructure projects, and 98 people's livelihood improvement and ecological environmental protection projects. The industrial development projects are related to high-end equipment manufacturing, advanced materials, and biomedicine, with annual planned investments totaling 27.616 billion yuan, accounting for 68.9% of the total annual investment. The infrastructure projects cover transportation, water conservancy, energy and other areas, with an annual planned investment of 4.296 billion yuan, making up 10.7% of the total annual investment. The livelihood improvement and ecological environmental protection projects have an annual planned investment of 8.138 billion yuan, contributing to 20.4% of the total annual investment.

The projects are characterized by significant scale, substantial investment, and strong structural quality. There are 70 projects each with an estimated total investment of more than 500 million yuan and 34 projects each worth over 1 billion, accounting for 18.8% and 9.2% of the total. Additionally, there are 7 projects, each valued at more than 5 billion yuan.

All of the projects serve as key drivers for expanding investment and maintaining steady growth throughout the year, which will further highlight Changsha's investment vitality, instill confidence in development, and inspire the morale of the whole province.
