The 2023 Changsha International Construction Equipment Exhibition (CICEE) Sub-exhibition in Southeast Asia opened at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 29, with the theme of "New Generation of High-end, Intelligent, and New-energy Construction Machinery."
As CICEE's first overseas sub-exhibition, the exhibition aims to take advantage of the RCEP international cooperation to promote Chinese construction machinery enterprises globally. The exhibition aims to tap into Southeast Asia and "Belt and Road" markets by organizing exhibitions, forums, and industrial promotion meetings. Additionally, the goal is to establish close links with building and engineering contractors, associations and major customers in major Southeast Asian countries.
With an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters, the exhibition features six special exhibition areas displaying concrete machinery, hoisting machinery, tunnel boring machinery, earthmoving machinery, construction machinery, and engineering machinery accessories, respectively. More than 120 companies participated in the exhibition and collectively showcased thousands of products, including Sany, Zoomlion, Sunward, China Railway Construction Heavy Industry, Shandong Qiyun Group, and Hunan Wuxin Tunnel Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd.
Seven cooperation and procurement projects were signed at the opening ceremony, involving such fields as exhibition cooperation, supply chain supporting facilities, construction machinery brand promotion, and logistics and transportation. Sany, Zoomlion, and Sinoboom contracted procurement deals worth 133 million yuan in total.
Meanwhile, the Southeast Asia Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference of Changsha Construction Machinery Industry, as well as more than 20 business meetings, will be held, in a bid to promote in-depth exchanges and development of the construction machinery industry between the two places. This will serve as a platform for bringing together investors and their targets both at home and abroad.
"The three-day event is a highly influential Chinese-run exhibition in Malaysia and an important stop for Chinese companies seeking development in Southeast Asia," said a person in charge of the exhibition's organizing committee, adding that the exhibition attracted more than 6,000 professional visitors on the opening day, and it is expected to become the largest-ever professional exhibition of heavy construction equipment in Malaysia.
