Zhuzhou’s World-class Manufacturing：Riding the Wind with a “Chinese Heart”

株洲，“全国航空工业的摇篮”，诞生了中国航空史上10多个“第一”。

Zhuzhou, “the cradle of national aviation industry”, has given birth to more than 10 “firsts” in the history of Chinese aviation.

1954年，中国第一台航空发动机在株洲试制成功，为国产飞机安装上了“中国心”，翻开了中国航空史上崭新的一页。

In 1954, China’s first aero-engine was successfully tested and manufactured in Zhuzhou, and since then domestic aircraft were installed with “Chinese heart”, which turns over a brand new page in China’s aviation history.

中国第一枚空空导弹、第一台重型摩托车发动机、第一台地面燃气轮机、第一台涡桨发动机等相继在株洲“出生”。

China’s first air-to-air missile, the first heavy motorcycle engine, the first ground gas turbine, the first turboprop engine were successively “born” in Zhuzhou.

经过近70年的发展，株洲成为了中国唯一的中小航空发动机特色产业基地、中国最大的中小航空发动机研发制造基地，中小航空发动机国家先进制造业集群。

After nearly 70 years of development, Zhuzhou has become the only characteristic industrial base of small and medium-sized aero-engines in China, the largest R&D and manufacturing base of small and medium-sized aero-engines in China, and a national advanced manufacturing cluster of small and medium-sized aero-engines.

在株洲，涉航企业有90多家，包括全国唯一的中小型航空发动机研发机构——中国航发湖南动力机械研究所，国内最大的中小航空发动机研制生产基地——中国航发南方工业有限公司。

In Zhuzhou, there are more than 90 aviation-related enterprises, including the only small and medium-sized aero-engine research and development organization in China - AECC Hunan Power Machinery Research Institute, the largest small and medium-sized aero-engine research and production base in China - AECC South Industry Co. Ltd.

中国自主研制的首款大型水陆两栖飞机“鲲龙”AG600，是目前世界上在研最大的水陆两栖飞机，其关键技术之一的“心脏”就来自株洲。

“Kunlong”AG600, the first large-scale amphibious aircraft independently developed by China, is currently the world’s largest amphibious aircraft in production, and one of its key technologies, the “heart”(airo-engine), is also from Zhuzhou.

“我身边的这架小飞机叫‘阿若拉’，是一款‘纯株洲血统’、中国首个自主研制的轻型运动飞机。它取得了美国天空飞行权，可在美正式销售，获得澳大利亚民航局轻型运动飞机适航认证，累计交付240多架。”

The small plane beside me is called “Aurora”. It has “pure Zhuzhou origin”, and it’s China’s first independently developed light sport aircraft. It has obtained the right to fly in the U.S. sky, and can be officially sold in the U.S. It has also obtained the airworthiness certification of the Australian Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for light sport aircraft, and has delivered more than 240 aircraft in total.

心向蓝天，株洲将加快打造世界级中小航空发动机产业集群，在2025年力争实现通航产业产值突破千亿大关。

Yearning for the blue sky, Zhuzhou will accelerate the construction of a world-class small and medium-sized aviation engine industry cluster, and strive to achieve an output value of over 100 billion yuan in the aviation industry by 2025.
