Changsha's imports and exports reached 195.86 billion yuan in the first eight months of this year, according to statistics released by Xingsha Customs on September 19.  Of the total, imports increased 12.5% to 60.7 billion yuan. Changsha's bonded logistics grew rapidly, and its trade relationship with emerging markets became stronger .

From January to August, Changsha's trade with South Korea amounted to 13.6 billion yuan, an increase of 32.5%. Trade with Indonesia grew 35.2% to 9.84 billion yuan. Trade with Russia totaled 8.1 billion yuan, up 102.5%.

In the first 8 months, imports and exports by private businesses in Changsha came in at 161.88 billion yuan, accounting for 82.7% of the city's total import and export value during the period. Imports and exports by foreign-invested enterprises reached 19.81 billion yuan, up 17.1% and accounting for 10.1%. Imports and exports by state-owned enterprises amounted to 14 billion yuan, up 8.9% and accounting for 7.1%.

During the period, the proportion of mechanical and electrical products in the exports exceeded 50%, while that of labor-intensive products declined significantly. Changsha exported 72.4 billion yuan of mechanical and electrical products, an increase of 7.6% and accounting for 53.6% of the total export value. The exports of labor-intensive products totaled 21.47 billion yuan, down 53.5% and accounting for 15.9%.
