An investment promotion meeting and press conference for the First Changsha International Beer Festival and the 2023 Hunan Special Food Culture Festival was held on the afternoon of August 3. It was announced that the First Changsha International Beer Festival will take place between August 11 and 27 at the Beer Festival Square at the Dawangshan Tourism Resort in the Hunan Xiangjiang New Area in Changsha.
The beer festival is sponsored by the Changsha Municipal People's Government, and organized by the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, and Television, the Xiangjiang New Area Publicity Department, and the Bureau of Commerce and Market Supervision of the Xiangjiang New Area. With activities based on rich and diverse themes, the festival aims to create sustainable and innovative consumption scenarios, boost Changsha's night-time consumption, promote the integrated development of cultural, commercial and fashion consumption, and help Changsha develop into an international consumption center.
During the 17-day beer festival, seven theme blocks will be set up, including a main stage area, a beer carnival block, and a barbecue food block. Colorful activities will be organized, including an opening ceremony, a night concert, and a Qixi Festival-themed party. The Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, falls on August 22 this year.
Night-time leisure scenes will be created, with various installations brought together to form an interactive zone with creative lighting. Bands from the Qingdao International Beer Festival will be invited.
The festival will introduce craft beers and a number of well-known domestic and foreign beer brands including Czech, Turkish, and German beer, to offer a high-quality, personalized and diverse drinking experience to the community. All beer will be supplied by breweries near Changsha, transported the same day through a cold chain logistical system to ensure quality and freshness.
Over 100 specialty food enterprises will set up booths on site, offering nearly 100 kinds of delicacies such as spaghetti, Japanese takoyaki, and Zibo-style Changsha barbecue.
