On the afternoon of May 30, Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met with Christian Zurbrüggen, president of the Zurbrüggen GmbH of Germany, Shi Mingde, president of the China-Germany Friendship Association, and a German economic and trade delegation in Changsha. Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the delegation and introduced the current situation in Hunan Province. He noted that the economic and trade cooperation between Hunan and Germany is thriving and has yielded fruitful results. A number of well-known German-funded enterprises have invested in Hunan, setting a benchmark for Chinese-foreign joint ventures in Hunan.

Hunan is now focusing on the "Three Hubs" construction to promote high-quality development. Germany has outstanding advantages in technology, management, and experience in the field of manufacturing. Both sides have great potential for collaboration. Hunan will unswervingly expand high-level opening up, joining hands with all walks of life in Germany to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state. Both sides may deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and achieve win-win development.

He expressed his eagerness to utilize the expo as an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and broaden the scope of cooperation. He expected entrepreneurs to continue to play their own advantages, attracting more foreign-funded enterprises and talents to invest and develop business in Hunan. Hunan will continue to foster a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, and provide high-quality services for the development of foreign-funded enterprises in Hunan.

On behalf of the German economic and trade delegation, Christian Zurbrüggen thanked Hunan for its warm reception and congratulated Hunan for its achievements in economic and social development. He remarked that Hunan has huge market potential, high level professionals, and excellent business environment, hoping to further strengthen project investment and economic and trade exchanges between the two sides through the expo, so as to realize mutual benefits and win-win results.
