The Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town Scenic Area, Changsha held a press conference on December 19 to announce its amusement projects and activities during the upcoming 2024 New Year's Day holiday. From December 24, 2023 to January 7, 2024, the scenic area will launch various wonderful activities to ring in the New Year, including a display of China-chic lanterns, an upgraded fireworks show, and a bonfire carnival.
Nearly 30 sets of lantern installations covering various Chinese cultural themes will be on display, forming over 40 colorful lantern landscapes. Stretching nearly 2,000 meters from the Shunzi Street entrance, the lantern formations harmonize with the Tang-style buildings in Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town.
The intangible cultural heritage item "datiehua", which literally means to "beat the iron flower" and involves splashing molten metal to create sparkling streaks of light, will be performed at the Shuixiu Square, Tongguan Kiln Ancient Town. In addition, there will be fireworks with various patterns such as rainbows, smiling faces, love hearts, flower trees, and meteor waterfalls. The display width of the fireworks will span up to 120 meters.
