The 2023 Smart City Expo World Congress · Changsha Stage opened on October 31. Peng Huasong, Standing Committee member of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee and executive vice mayor of Changsha City, attended and announced the opening of the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by Luis Gomez Fernandez, minister of innovation of the Smart City Expo World Congress; Otthein Herzog, academician of the German National Academy of Science and Engineering; Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) academicians Li Jiancheng, Chen Zhengqing, and Zheng Jianlong; Shan Zhiguang, director of the State Information Center Smarter City Development and Research Center; Fan Gang, professor of economics at Peking University; and, other leading experts and scholars in domestic and foreign industries. Maoulana Charif, ambassador of the Union of Comoros to China, and other international guests also attended.
With the theme of "Creating and Sharing Cities for Common Good", the congress aims to provide a bigger stage, better booths, and a better platform for exchanges and cooperation in the construction of smart cities at home and abroad, and boost new development of global smart city construction, so that every citizen can benefit from the process of making cities smarter and enjoy a more convenient, comfortable and environment-friendly urban life.
The three-day congress, held both online and offline, connects representatives from China and other countries and creates a domestic and international display and exchange system. Additionally, it brings together more than 140 heads of national and international governments and public administration departments, urban planners, representatives of digital technology companies and sustainable development experts. They will share views and conduct discussions on current hot topics related to smart cities. Through these discussions, they hope to contribute ideas for the future development of smart cities and promote global exchanges and cooperation.
