Changsha Huanghua International Airport resumed the flights to Luang Prabang, Laos on September 6, 2023. Hence, Changsha has resumed all of its regular flights towards Laos, after the resumption of the Changsha-Vientiane direct flight on April 28 this year.

This route is scheduled to provide a round-trip flight every Wednesday. The flight departs from Luang Prabang at 13:10 and arrives at Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 16:20, with the flight number of QV857. The return flight takes off from Changsha at 17:20 and arrive in Luang Prabang at 18:30, with the flight number of QV858.
The Changsha-Vientiane route provides a round-trip flight every Monday. The flight departs from Vientiane at 11:25 and arrives in Changsha at 14:40, with the flight number of QV855. The return trip takes off from Changsha at 15:40 and arrives in Vientiane at 16:40, with the flight number of QV856.
Hunan Province has been maintaining close ties and conducting frequent communication with Laos in recent years. Hunan and its several cities have established friendship city, or province-city relationships with various regions in Laos. In 2017, Laos set up its sixth consulate general in China in Changsha City, which was the first foreign consulate general in Changsha since the founding of the PRC in 1949.
